House Democrats Celebrate Four Years of Progress under Governor McAuliffe

RICHMOND, Va. – House Democratic Leader David J. Toscano and Caucus Chair Charniele Herring tonight issued the following joint statement on Governor Terry McAuliffe’s final State of the Commonwealth Address:
“For the past four years, House Democrats have had a strong and steadfast partner in Governor Terry McAuliffe. Under his leadership, Virginia has ushered in an era of unprecedented growth and prosperity. Tonight, Virginia is stronger thanks to the governor's commitment to students and veterans, his compassion for those who have served their time, and his diligent efforts to extend access to affordable health care to nearly 400,000 Virginians through Medicaid expansion. His defining principle of governance is that everyone, no matter who you are or where you’re from, should have a fair shot to succeed. We look forward to continuing his legacy of opportunity for all under Governor-elect Ralph Northam.”
